Here are two snippets that came up in a Short Sims workshop a few days ago that I thought I would capture and share.
Expanding What Makes Educational Content Valuable
In valuable education content:
I. Every learner feels the content 'gets' them.
II. The content captures emotions, not just facts. (i.e. Not just "Who were great innovators?" but also, "What does each stage feel like when we are innovating?")
III. The content makes you want to go out and do what you just learned/practiced.
Redefining Intelligence
Short Sims provide the opportunity to redefine intelligence by expanding what types of knowledge and wisdom can be captured in media, which can make the educational system more relevant and more inclusive.
